In Virginia horse country, stables with a garage on top
This unusual design highlights the structural capabilities of the Geobarn frame. Our client approached Geobarns with a need for both a horse barn and a three bay garage. While both are typically ground-floor operations, a site was located that would allow a bank barn. Still, the challenge of parking heavy, concentrated loads on a floor over beloved animals was daunting. Enter the Geobarn girder truss. The bank barn arrangement, in this case, was ideal for site considerations, as it allowed the upper garage face to be oriented uphill toward the home, while the stalls and livestock entries, shaded by a cantilevered shed roof, open directly to the pasture below.
