New England Home Addition

March 18, 2018

This addition includes handmade details throughout

This Geobarn addition in Woodstock Vermont complements the original cape building with natural shiplap and the angles and lines typically found on a New England schoolhouse. The addition is fully insulated with Green Mountain double insulated argon windows, maintaining the classical style with all the technology currently available, including radiant heat and high density insulation. Handmade doors include tongue and groove cedar panels within shiplap borders, surrounded by vertical grain beaded fir wainscoating, all beneath ceilings of Douglas Fir beams and V-groove pine, all for a fraction of the price of a traditionally framed home.

We are thrilled with our Geobarn! George worked tirelessly to design and then construct exactly the home that works for our family. Not only is the building magnificent, but it all came together exactly in the timeframe promised. We can’t imagine working with a builder who has a higher standard of integrity then George Abetti and the folks at Geobarn.
