Grateful for a Good Year

Hello All (from Italy)–

It has been way too long since I last wrote a year ago and so much has happened this year that it will be a challenge to recapitulate in this single email…but here is an earnest effort regardless.  I want to share some transition and succession plans within Geobarns, some glorious structures we built, and the thrill and honor of becoming a great grandpa as well as my dad’s 105th birthday approaching in several weeks where we anticipate having almost the entire family present in northern Vermont….with all five generations no less!

First–I am so grateful to have three incredible partners to whom I will be and am already entrusting Geobarns, with transferring some significant stock ownership to them and already relinquishing some responsibility into both their hearts and hands.  While hard at times this has also provided a deep measure of peace and a safe platform where I can begin to let go and still be an essential part of Geobarns thriving as it now is. This recent article in CEO Weekly  is a good synopsis of what we have worked so hard to create and enhance these past few years.  Pioneers usually make lousy settlers and I am ensconced within a team that is far more competent running the company than I–what a relief!

Second–we have had a stellar year designing, building and completing some magnificent structures–some of which are included in the attached pictures….Bramble & Oak venue northwest of Atlanta, Orchard Church in Westford MA, The Farmer and the Bell bakery (with simply epic donuts), La Vida Christian Camp in the Adirondacks, finally wrapping up the Rochetta project, multiple homes in the northeast and Virginia…and of course many more on the way this year.  Without our crews none of these would have been possible–no way to adequately express our admiration and gratitude for the myriad of men and some women who work so hard and literally make us shine.

Third–my dad became a great great grandfather this past September–which by default means I am now a great grandfather!😮  Furthermore, our large and widely disbursed family will be gathering in northern Vermont to celebrate his 105th birthday in just a few weeks this mid-February–with the new great great grandson giving us an opportunity for a unique five generation photo….(stay tuned…😎)

Thank you to so many of you who stay in touch and continue to bless all of us here at Geobarns.
